RON KERL
Ron Kerl has practiced law in Pocatello since 1975. He was raised in the
north Idaho community of Priest River, attended and graduated from the
University of Idaho College of Letters and Science (B.A. 1972) and College
of Law (J.D. 1975). While in law school Ron was Editor-in-Chief of the Idaho
Law Review.

Ron is admitted to practice law in all state and federal courts of Idaho and
the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. He has served as
president of the local (6th District Bar Association, 1982), the state-wide
Idaho State Bar (1994), and the Portneuf Inns of Court (1996). He has
chaired numerous Idaho State Bar committees (Bar Exam Grading, Professional
Conduct, Long Range Planning), and has served on the Idaho Law
Foundation's Fund Development Committee. In 2002 Ron received the Idaho
State Bar's Professionalism Award. Ron is a member of the Idaho State Bar,
the Bar of the U.S. District Court for the District and Bankruptcy Courts of Idaho,
and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. From 2003 through 2006, Ron served as a
lawyer representative for the District of Idaho and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ron's primary practice areas include commercial litigation (plaintiff and
defendant representation in state and federal trial and appellate courts),
bankruptcy reorganizations under Chapters 11 and 12 and bankruptcy
liquidations under Chapter 7 (creditor representation), contract (drafting
simple to complex commercial and financial agreements), and real estate
(commercial and agricultural acquisitions and sales). Representative
clients include: Northwest Farm Credit Services, Farm Credit Leasing Services
Corp., AgriBank, FCB, AgServices of America, Inc., John Deere Credit, Idaho
Central Credit Union, Zions Bank, Key Bank, U.S. Bancorp, SEI US Employees
Federal Credit Union, CUMIS Insurance Co., The Travelers Insurance Company,
Southeast Idaho Council of Governments, Inc.
Following his graduation from law school, Ron and his wife Kathy moved to
Pocatello where they have raised three daughters. They enjoy skiing,
snowshoeing, tennis, camping, and hiking. Ron is an avid white water
enthusiast and a novice fly fisherman.
